Smoky Roasted Almonds

(vg,gf)

These almonds are savory, smoky, with just the right amount of heat. They make a great garnish for soups and salads. They’re also a wonderful snack on their own!

Ingredients:

7oz sliced almonds

2 + 1/2 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 teaspoon hot sauce

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

2 + 3/4 teaspoons liquid smoke

1/2 teaspoon soy sauce

2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning

2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon of pepper

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2. Combine all ingredients except olive oil and almonds in a small mixing bowl or measuring cup.

3. Slowly mix in olive oil until all is combined.

4. Pour the mixture over almonds and mix until thoroughly coated.

5. Spread onto a nonstick baking sheet.

6. Cook for 10 minutes, mix the almonds and cook for another 7 mins until they’ve crisped and just started to brown.
